Dr. Joseph Akins

Dr. Joseph Akins is an award-winning associate professor of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University where he teaches courses on MIDI production and commercial music. In addition to teaching, he actively writes, records, and performs on a national level as a solo piano artist.

Joseph's love for music began when he was only 10 years old, and led him to release several albums throughout his career. Along the way, he developed a phenomenal understanding of digital audio theory and electronic music.

Currently, Dr. Akins is actively touring, writing, teaching, and recording.
